Reaching Elettra - Sincrotrone Trieste from Treviso Airport

Unfortunately, there is no direct public transport connection from Treviso airport to Trieste. The only way to get to Trieste is with the combination bus - train - bus.

Step 1: bus from the airport to Venezia Mestre railway station.

The ATVO coach connects Treviso airport to Venezia Mestre railways station. The bus stop can be found just in front of the arrivals terminal. Tickets can be purchased online (at the ATVO website).
Ride takes about 25 min, depending on traffic.

Alternatively, local bus connects Treviso airport to Treviso railway station.
Ride takes about 10 to 15 min.

Step 2: Train to Trieste.

Both Treviso and Venezia Mestre offer frequent train connections to Trieste (last stop). Ride takes about 1h 50' from Venezia Mestre railway station, and 2h 15' from Treviso. Check the Trenitalia website for exact timetables and fares (in the range €15-20 for a second class ticket).

Step 3: From downtown Trieste to Elettra (Basovizza).

Once in Trieste, you have to continue to Basovizza by bus of by taxi.
